POLL: Separate beds in bedroom - yes or no?
Comments (22)We have a double bed but it's a couple of single divans zipped together, this does cut down on movement being felt when the person your sleeping with turns over... additionally we have separate duvets which is fantastic! My husband likes to be tucked in and have the covers right up to his ears and I can't bear either! In the winter though I hate that wind tunnel down my back so, for us, we want to share a big bed but not a duvet!...See Morepile driving
Comments (0)We have had 2 extensions on our 80s 2 bed house, one in the early 90s to extend our bedroom and lounge which was on the side of the house, secondly about 5years ago to make a bedroom and bathroom at the front of the house downstairs for our disabled son. The only space we feel is cramped is our kitchen diner now. In the area we live in East London we have to have pile driving done which has been a very costly business when extending. I would love to make a garden room following on from the kitchen diner but if pile driving is done it takes up most of the budget. Anybody know of any alternatives nowadays please?...See Morekitchen island or table???

Here are some photos of it. Thanks to all that posted...See MoreIdeas for Elderly/Disabled Table Unit
Comments (2)You need to talk to your target user group but I just did some searches for antique unusual or bespoke bed tray tables and was surprised that there weren’t any particularly interesting or unique examples to get inspiration from. Would have expected some industrial revolution inventiveness or some handmade bespoke for rich ww1 injured officers. That tells me there isn’t a way for a bed table to make life much easier for those confined. But doesn’t mean you can’t use better materials, antibacterial or lightweight etc. For example this bamboo table is great being lightweight with cup and side holders but is labour intensive to make and not easily cleaned so maybe get examples like this showing the pros and cons and show where you improve the cons? And of course since you are a design student make sure it’s more aesthetically pleasing than the current offerings....See More- 11 years ago
