I would paint your bed and ivory with a glaze over it ,then it would use texture and layer neutral sheets blankets and pillows since the room is so small ,hang curtains as high as you can and as far out from the window frame as you can to make the window look larger and taller. if you lighten up the bed with paint as suggested the room will look bigger as well ,then you can use side tables in mirror finish for some drama or round with a cloth top even ...with the room being small I would stay neutral and you bedside lamp shade needs to be at a hight that you can lay in bed and read under. The light.too small of a lamp will make them seem out of place ...try a textured soft larger neutral rug under your bed ,larger is better

You could perhaps still have a walk in wardrobe and ensuite - think about it like it's an upscale hotel room. Are you a bather or a showerer? The answer will dictate what you want in your ensuite. If the ensuite is more of a wetroom than an actual bathroom it won't take up as much square footage - baths tend to be bigger than shower enclosures and if you want a bath, then there's one in the main family bathroom in your plan, so go for a deluxe shower. http://www.houseplanshelper.com/master-bedroom-floor-plans.html has some good advice and potential room plans including ensuites. There's one where the ensuite and walk in are along one wall which leaves the rest of the room for the bed. Based on your plan, you might lose the windows on one side for the ensuite and wardrobe, but you'd still have the big patio doors for light. You could have it arranged so that you walk through the wardrobe to access the bathroom. Pocket doors mean you wouldn't have to worry so much about the swing into the room. I'd also have the bathroom sharing the same wall as the existing bathroom so there's less plumbing and drainage work to do. Don't get a macerator/SaniFlo; we had one when we moved in and it made so much noise that we couldn't flush or shower or wash in the evening/night for fear of waking the neighbours. You can also get those beds where the TV is in the footboard. That might be a space saver. If you're clever with the layout of the ensuite and walk in wardrobe you might still have room for a nice sitting area (always good for reading in peace or getting dressed/undressed) and a dressing table/desk - your current plan seems to have a lot of unused floor space - though that might be what you're after. The dressing table could be under the window next to the patio doors. It would be close to the door, but a nice stool that tucks under the countertop would work - how often is the door and the dressing table going to be used at the same time? :) Edited To Add: Here's a wee mockup - I guesstimated the window and door sizes and placements and it's an Ikea Hemnes double bed and side tables.

Hi, I live in a Victorian house too with a bay - and had a similar dilemma. Someone on a forum recommended a company in Wales (I think!) that make lovely iron curtain poles - so that’s what we did, and we’ve never looked back!! The company have a (basic) website - it explains how to measure (you have to do several measurements which they then use to ensure a perfect fit!). The pole arrived as one solid piece that was bent at all the right places. We chose a gorgeous white with simple small white balls as the finals. You can choose different thicknesses of pole too. It’s attached to the wall with 3 fittings - one in the middle and one at each end. In theory we could have just two wide curtains on it, but in reality we chose to hang 4 curtains - one on each end and one in each corner to pull across the back. We went for white as we didn’t want the heavy look of the black poles - our house had those when we moved in and we wanted something a bit different and more neutral. We hung light white curtains to start with but currently have a heavy dark grey velvet. Both looked great with the pole as it’s very unobtrusive. I can’t remember the cost but I do remember it being cheaper than I was expecting - more than Ikea (!!) but less than John Lewis - and it’s totally bespoke and one one solid pole.
