Hi Annalie, what an amazing spare bedroom! I love the dark polished wood flooring and original fireplace. As for the bedside tables, (I'm aware this may seem a little safe!) but I would recommend keeping them the same colour wood as the bed or the flooring. I would also suggest keeping them a simple minimalistic design so as not to look too mismatched with the other strong features in the bedroom (fireplace, ceiling light). I'd say we all want to live in that lovely house we passed whilst on the way to go brambling with a jam jar in our hand and high hopes of a good day. Maybe it was the gates, or the gravel driveway that appealed, and it even had stone pillers and Georgian windows . And I'd wait and stare, and wait and stare curious about who lived there and hoping they'd drive out allowing me a quick glimpse of another world. Them. Then I'd feel ashamed stood there in my jumble-sale-new clothes, bothered that perhaps someone might come out and ask me what was I doing. I learnt it was a very rich person home, a shipbuilder who owned a shipping fleet and I wanted to copy him, if he could do it- then so could I. So that man and that lovely house blighted my life for the best, and it still does. I love this house and stop outside it whenever I pass by. I'm heart broken, and I'm a big strong man and big strong men are not allowed to cry. That adopted house is my comfort blanket, my home, and I go to sleep and it becomes mine.This is my lounge, this my garden, this gate is mine, and please come in when you go brambling. Don't walk on by, share it with me, you can adopt upstairs or the fireplaces, or ceiling coving and florals, I won't mind.

I think it's looking good. Maybe see what you think after you've added lamps and cushions. If it was mine I might consider changing the handles on the chest to similar to pictured which I think will work nicely against the bedside tables. I might also look at a dipped vase for the chest to reference the colour blocking of the dressing table and I'd add tall faux stems. The vase is also Cox and Cox and they do a grey dipped one too which would look good

Hiya, I do like the gold/copper side tables :) but we have soooo many metallics going into the lounge/diner/kitchen that I just wanted something a little less gold in the spare room! ......... ..... Yes, the writing bureau is 100% going in the guest bedroom as that is where it will get used. It will be used for the laptop and paperwork, in a room with a sea view. The guest bedroom will have a double purpose- the view is too beautiful for it only to be used for guests. Also it’s over 20ft long!
