I think the option of having the tv under the stairs.. Is the best idea.. Maybe have a tv, media unit made to measure if possible .. Draws or cupboards underneath for storage. Small shelves at the sides for little ink-naks. If needed.. A smaller maybe glass oblong table in front of the window. The table will still allow light through.. Making sure passable through to the stairs.. And the sofa on the back wall.. Lovely rug in the centre with coffee table or chest for extra storage if needed... Maybe some open floating shelves off set above the sofa. Use an accent colour with accessories.. From the rug or cushions.. Don't go overboard with large piece of furniture... Simple statements....

That's more then enough space between the island and bifold door, and the island and the sink, not to worry. For your peace of mind, the island can be moved around before the final stage of installation, so just stand in front of it and check the distance, open the doors especially the dishwasher door and see if you can move around comfortably. If you are happy then let them finish the work. We had to move this whole island with the quartz as the ceiling lights were fitted slightly to the left.

Hi there. Looking for some related advice. We''re also ordering a new kitchen and are trying to decide on an extractor. The only issue is that the ceiling is about 3.25-3.5m high so everyone keeps telling us to have a bulkhead over the island as a ceiling mounted extractor will be inefficient otherwise (we're told a height of more than 1.5m above the hob is the maximum; ours will be about 2.2m...). We really don't want anything hanging from the ceiling over the kitchen island as it is in an open space and will ruin the whole open plan concept. Do you know of any flush ceiling mounted extractors with motors which are strong enough to work at that height? Currently looking at Falmec, Sirius and Frecan but would love to hear your suggestions. No trouble i love doing it. i think the smaller table works better too, central to the middle window and flexible access to the island seating. i was thinking the middle window, if budget allows, could be patio doors to reduce traffic through your kitchen area?
