Hi. I think you can buy extension cables for the TV? I'd try putting the TV to the left of the bay, so it's not the focal point, and have the corner sofa on the back window wall but pulled away with a long slim side table next to it for a lamp etc sat in the bay. Maybe try just one chair opposite the sofa and centre the footstool between the seats and zone the seating area with the rug (so effectively ignoring TV position!). If not try floating the sofa in front of the door with a console table behind and a chair in the corner to the left of the TV. They may work, hard to tell from pics although I can see you've masked everything out! All the chairs would work, maybe look at a patterned fabric?

I'd suggest MDF. As it comes in various thicknesses it comes with weight too but you'd need a decent thickness if you want to sit on it. You could either paint it or upholster it.
