Comments (20)Your best bet is to locate a reputable (possibly local or that works in Austria) company that can produce bespoke staircases. Give them your specification and ask them to do a site survey first. It is hard to say what fixing method would be the best / easiest and cheapest way without this. The price.. well I wouldn't like to put a figure on it as companies are set up differently meaning manufacturing and installation costs vary. As a starter, the staircase above was manufactured from stainless steel zig zag stringers (coated mild steel can work too), with solid timber box treads and low iron glass balustrade. There is a write up on our website here. A few main details like this should be enough (along with a survey) for the company to determine a staircase design and price for you. Hope this helps! Comments (2)Sisal is impossible to clean and the dirt falls through it, so it's not very hygienic. I would recommend replacing it with a carpet made of olefin or nylon. A fibre that has the colour in the solution it's made of will not absorb stains and will be easily cleanable. I think you'll be happy with it because it will be quiet and luxurious and will clean up with a quick vacuum most of the time....See Moreour staircase area
Comments (17)Hi, Lots of scope in the living area then. Could be a really great space eventually so how very exciting for you. You definitely need light in that hallway.. So lights up the steps is a great idea whilst you lay the flooring. A great statement light in the top would be lovely and inviting.. And can of course be taken with you when you move in a few years. I always like textured paper so maybe consider that instead of paint. It has a real luxurious contemporary feel with a added depth. Lastly something to consider maybe lightening the space by not using solid blocks of wood up the stairs.. Consider using paper or paint here too - see pictures If this were for one of my clients, I would base and change the colours used dependent on the other rooms and ideas you have. We offer some great affordable packages for single room designs and 3D renders if you need any help in the future. Comments (8)Just seen this post and as a glass company would like to offer some inspiration and advice with the current staircase as it is with the open threads I would be keen to recommend a stand off fixed balustrade with or without a handrail its really your decision, see the below photo of a job we did with stand offs fixings and a matching stainless steel handrail. If you were to reconfigure the stairs there are other options such as balustrade clamps or baserail fitting as per below photos. Hope this help, unsure of your location but if its within Bristol, bath or Gloucester give us a call. Thanks BFG....See More- 10 years ago
