Where can I obtain bathroom panels from - as shown in picture? And how would I protect it from water etc??? I'm trying to create a traditional bathroom and unsure on panels or metro tiles!??? HELPPPPPP plz
Most panels are produced out of MDF which is pretty stable - then painted with a min of eggshell sheen, that is wipe able - obviously if you have a 'flake ' moment (like their old advert ) in the bath and let it flood over, it will cause damage ! If you are likely to do this sort of thing then tank the room as you would a wet room and have composite or stone panelling instead
I had mine panelled with individual T&G cut to size. Undercoat and top coat of a dead flat wood paint, and it's still gr8 30 years on.
Now you can buy the MDF sheets as mentioned above. You still have to put in place horizontal batons, but an under and top coat with a final coat of clear varnish - I would go for Yacht Varnish - and it'll last for years. Just make sure you seal top & bottom edges too.
