Hi there, I'm wondering how you're getting on?!! How about a Bali pod by the sofa arm with the throw on? You could have a bespoke piece to add interest and colour ....and also allow you to sit comfortably in the sofa with a drink close by (rather than having to reach to the coffee table every time you want a sip!). This is the sort of thing I'm thinking.....our pods come in 7 shapes, 5 core fabrics and loads of colours ...or you can use your own fabric, so you can make quite a personalised statement!! Thank you both for your comments. Yes we are very lucky to have such a nice room which is why I want to get it looking right. I really like some of your suggestions Minnie 101. I wasn’t keen on the orange with the cushions I currently have on the sofas but the ones you have sent a picture of look much nicer. I also like the idea of a bigger rug which goes under the feet of the chairs. I haven’t yet picked any wallpaper no. Yes Carolina, I know what you mean about the tv but unfortunately there isn’t room on the left wall, it would have to cover half a window. Also the best view from this room is actually to the right of the tv. So it’s only really blocking the view of the drive. I’m not sure how else I could make it work really? Interesting about the mirror. I’ve never thought about it like that. This little area annoys me a little and I’ve always thought it was the lamp or the mess on the console. Maybe it the mirror. I really like some of the items both of you have shown. Is there a link at all that I’m missing to these items or is it just for ideas? Not fully sure how this all works. Thanks everyone for all your lovely comments, I do love my new room just would love to finish it off perfectly so I can love it even more, you've all really helped with your advice which I will definitely use! The sofas are from the Hadrian range at Cousins which are actually on offer at the moment, the carpet is just from a local carpet shop not a high street name, it's a decent quality but I forget the name of it! Thanks for the photoshopped images they look great, I really like those 2 pictures side by side behind the sofa, I will definitely think about that idea. I think you're right jessa61, about waiting. The thing is, as you said, you're not in the house yet. When you get in and the floors, walls are ready and the main sofa is in, then add to it. You may dislike what you have in your head as soon as you see it all in situ, you may not. I really like the last table you posted, it's great with the sofa, and, in truth, i actually really dislike all the thin framed marble top tables around at the moment. It's not a trend i'm on board with. I would definitely wait for the accent chairs. Chesterfields are beautiful and statement pieces, however, they can be uncomfortable to sit on for long, there's no upper body / neck support and you can't lounge on them. So, this is why i personally think they go very well with high backed armchairs. You lounge on the armchairs with your feet up on the footstools. Also, you say you want two footstools, which is great to go with the armchairs, but you sound like you want to sit on the sofa and have them in front of you, which will be difficult with a coffee table in the way. The footstools can stay with the armchairs and be occasional seating, yes, the chesterfield needs to sit with the coffee table in front of it, not footstools. I think the side tables are a good idea, i'm not sure about the height you need, i'd wait to see how you use the seating before deciding. The height may be irrelevant and you may not want lamps on them at all.
