If it's just goi g to be remodeled.. Reuse your cabinets and doors.. Old wood is .. If in good condition better than some of today's materials... Maybe two- tone areas wood and creams can the wood be cleaned or stained . The grain highlighted... (If it a it broke don't fix it.). Regarding colours paint some boards or papers and put up around the room. Put in darker areas and see what the natural light offers you day and night... Also looking through some of the photos on here, can help.. Pick out the bits you like and inter change ideas .. Good luck in your project... Let it evolve with at least some of your character, charm. And above all make it liveable. Loveable. It has to please you and your life .. Not to please any one else.. You have to use it everyday ..

Hi mayy76, It sounds like you have a great decorating project to get stuck into. A great white colour from Dulux is White Cotton, which I'd recommend in a matt finish. It has slight blue undertones so it will work great with silver sofas. https://www.dulux.co.uk/en/products/matt I would also add the same colour through your woodwork if a touch up is needed, in a satinwood finish, for a seamless effect. For your carpet I would opt for a pale grey colour, so it complements the white walls. Use the Kitchen+ range for your kitchen walls as it is greaseproof and really convenient to wipe off any stains. You can use the same colour as a base for the rest of your house, but how about adding touches of colour here and there? It might look pretty on the pics but to live in such a white room for a long time, would be too white. Although one can vary it with coloured blankets or rugs.

I think a warm neutral will work in the bathroom. Maybe perfectly taupe?
