Copy pasted via google ... Soil A general purpose houseplant potting soil can be used, so long as it is well-draining. If you're using soil that doesn't drain well, add perlite or coarse sand to the mixture. To mix your own soil for prayer plants, use: 1 part perlite or coarse sand 1 part garden soil 1 part peat or humus 1 pinch of lime dust To improve drainage, add rocks or gravel to the bottom of your pot and be sure that the pot has a drainage hole. Fertilizer During the growing season (spring through fall), prayer plants should be fed every two weeks. Use a high quality water-soluble houseplant food. Repotting You shouldn't need to re-pot your prayer plant often. However, when it becomes root-bound in its pot, it will grow much slower. Hope it helps !! If you re-pot, choose a pot that is 1-2" wider than the existing pot. Simply remove it from the current pot and put it in the new pot with a bit of extra soil mix. Water well.

I already have a reading corner near the other windows. The gap is 4.5 metres. I wonder if I could put a long E-shaped 70 cm-high and 40cm-deep partition behind the sofa along the gap from the edge right upto the wall. The two U-shaped sections formed can be seating areas with two good looking broad planks placed on, 1 or 2, 18mm plywood covering the gap. Cushions and thick rugs can soften the seating and back. The part of the E-shaped partition along the wall can be extended till the window for a display section. Thus, I can have a separate seating area facing the window wall. Rail or cable lighting on the ceiling above which I already have. What say ? Could it work ?

Nice pots. Aldi are selling these atm which I think would be perfect. https://www.aldi.co.uk/the-green-garden-buxus-pyramid/p/706736416109300 Very easy to look after and should do well for a good few years. There are not a lot of plants that are happy in a pot long term but there are a few. If you want some flowers then my favourite is pot mums. They’re Chrysanthemums but the outdoor bedding variety (I recently bought some more from Asda.) Lots of colours, will be happy in a pot for years and flower when a lot of stuff is gone over. Tip for any potted plant is to scrape top layer of soil off in spring and replenish with fresh compost, it gives them an oomph 🙂, then water a lot during spring and summer months.

Shame, it's quite an attractive weed! Still quite tempted to keep it. Right now it's on my living room windowsill, so it's not going to cause problems for anything else, and I can keep a close eye on it to make sure it doesn't affect the olive tree. Any idea why it only appeared in this one pot? There are loads of pots in my greenhouse, and I haven't seen anything like this in any others. My experience of weeds is that they normally take over. The Utricularia that is in the carnivorous plant pots has spread to pretty much every pot in there, as have the various Drosera species I keep (often thought of as the weeds of the carnivorous plant world, although most of us like them). Thanks
