POLL: Real or fake Christmas tree?
Comments (50)We've gone for one of each again this year. I'd echo the sentiments of the smell of the real tree being almost magical. The real tree is in the sitting room - and this is basically the wife's. She has full control over this bad-boy. She chooses the decorations, the lights, where things go, what colour scheme (for some reason the lights in this picture look blue. They're not, they're just a different 'white' - phone cameras hey). The fake tree is in the kids room (aka the conservatory) - this is decorated by the kids, and basically they just stand there and throw as much stuff as they can get their hands on in the direction of the tree and see what sticks. I did have to wait till they went to bed to 're-locate' some of the accessories, as 90% of is was only decorated up to waist level....See MoreDo you keep your toiletries on display?
Comments (24)I have cupboards under and next to the basin so there is lots of out of sight space for spares. I do keep what I need daily on the surface next to the basin but they are in glasses in a colour that goes with the room and I've arranged them slightly artily so they look considered, not haphazard. That's my view - people who visit my house might think differently! Thinking about it, many of my friends keep everything hidden. When I had my loft converted in my previous home, the architect gave me a very pretty bag to take all my daily stuff in and out of the bathroom - the message was, keep them out of sight. Only remembered that right now. I think I'll have to rethink my routines!...See Moreideas needed please for a 1970s project!
Comments (17)Hi there and congratulations on owning a new home. Regarding what to do with the outside space, especially the front, I would suggest a few tips to improve the and feel of the area. Introducing a lawn would be a nice place to start. The place will look natural, and plus this may double as play area for kids in future.Flowers and flower pots near the entrance will also enhance the look and feel of the area, making the space more vibrant and energeticYou may also consider one or two large trees to the back of the house, if there is a backyard. Just like flowers, the place will look more natural and probably even larger.Apart from the natural elements additions to the space, it may also be important to use curbs and pavements to define paths from the green areas. This will hugely improve on the organisation of the area. If you can provide more info, including pictures and dimensions and we can help you further a beautiful photorealistic render of what I really think would be a great front looking view. If you'd like to speak to one of our designers, I can offer you a free consultation call. Comments (40)Following with interest! I have something similar that needs renovating, but in an apartment, and no window - around 3500x1200. Personally, I wouldn't swap the loo and shower (I always prefer a loo to be near a window (!) and wouldn't lose a window ie valuable ventilation for the sake of a slightly bigger shower, but obviously it depends what's important to you). Maybe half tiling the non-shower areas is an option? The bathroom fitter may have clever solutions for fitting the right size tray into that width. Good luck!...See MoreDaza
