I think that is a lot better. YAY! You'll get good flow from the utility straight into the kitchen with your shopping bags, coats, etc. and it looks like there'll be enough space in the "extended hall" to use it constructively. I do have a couple more questions/suggestions: - The doorway from the utility with the fridge next to it - if the fridge door is open, you won't be able to get through. Also, because the area next to the fridge is all wall cabinets, you might have the "where do I dump things?" issue. I would put another counter on the left wall between the two banks of cupboards. It'll probably only be two or three cabinets and counter, but I think it'll be handy. OR you could put the FF there. - I'd centre the hob on the island, but I think that is a good spot for it. - The other thing is something One Plan raised - walk in pantry? You could have part of the utility dedicated to this, or do you think you'll have enough food storage with the wall cupboard near the ovens (I assume this will be a pull out number as these are really handy to be able to see everything.

In an earlier post you said you were having a sofa and TV in the room too. I'm having an extension built and my kitchen will be a similar size to yours. I'm hoping to fit a dining table and sofa in the room, however I can't picture the space at the moment. I'd love to see a photo of your kitchen with the sofa and tv in it as it would help me with my layout.

Wow, ok, I don't know where to start :-) This plan only focuses on the kitchen, some things are left out because they don't really concern the kitchen design: - the room in the bottom is much larger than on this plan. We are going to use it as a sitting room/play room. We've thought about putting the dining table over there, but it would be too far from the kitchen. (plus: then there would have to be a playroom like space where the dinner table is on this plan) We might reconsider though. - the view in the top left, is the view from the living room. - the red dot in the kitchen island is a structural pillar. There is another one 7 metres lower, about where the cupboards of the new kitchen stop. - the area which Jonathan circled in red, is a walk-in dressing which you can reach through a sliding door. There we have acces to a separate toilet and to the bathroom. - we wanted an open shelf in the island, to store cookbooks etc. I'm adding a picture of the effect we're looking for. I also said to the designer that the three big cupboard at the back look too boring and overwhelming. So she echood the kitchen island a bit (if you understand what I mean). The 7 small cupboards in the island seem too much though.

We had a similar problem. Had two rads and two plinth heaters, but they weren't working properly and we were freezing. Had the plumber in and he adjusted them and now we're toasty in a matter of minutes. Get one plinth heater put in and plug in a small electric coal or log effect stove ( cheap enough) to bridge the gap. If your windows are thermally bridged have you thought about contacting the window installer to complain , about the problems you are having? The builder, too , as he should have ensured your extension was properly insulated. The suggestion about thermal lined curtains that pull right back during the day is spot on as it will help insulate the room and the kitchen will be warmer in the mornings to come down to. Finally the door is essential as both the hall and front door area are most likely sucking away any warmth from the kitchen area, especially if there is a stairwell. I now think if I was doing mine again I would dig up the floor and put in underfoot heating but this is way too disruptive to consider now. Best of luck.
