Bathroom tile help!!

Hi, opinions needed! We're about to have our bathroom redone. It's taken me 3 months to decide on the sink, bath and toilet and now I need help with the tiles!!! I've attached photos of the bathroom as it is now and the vanity we're having. We are moving the sink to the wall opposite the toilet and losing the shower. I'm hoping for a contemporary but classic look as it's an Edwardian house. My initial thoughts on tiles are soft grey marble floor and on the inset bath and white herringbone on the full sink wall? Any thoughts please???

Comments (16)Thanks everyone for their help! I ended up falling in love with a glass grey metallic tile from Fired Earth in their glass elements range. I’m tiling the whole shower area in it. For around the bath I’ve got Matt 10x20 white tiles that I’m going to do halfway up the wall and then have a custom mirror made for the top half. The Matt tiles are also going to go around the sink area. Comments (8)Hi, thanks for getting back to me, it's actually a small downstairs shower room. What was originally a small galley kitchen, we converted half of it in to bathroom. It measures 1.1 meter width by 2.2 length. I forgot to take pictures hand, but i took a few today. Sink will be in the middle & toilet at far end....See Morebathroom tile - help me decide!

8 years agoThanks both. The herringbone was just white (as in the photo). You think the marble on floor and walls? They do have some and I live it, but was a bit concerned this would be too fussy?

8 years agoI love those herringbone. I think on one wall it would look nice and compliment the floor.
I think if going for the glossy ones, they would need to either be contrasting colour or match with the white of the floor tile perhaps?
We did our bathroom with the marble effect floor and a corner wall in the same - but not smaller tiles.
Much prefer herringbone to metro though
