Flooring help

Hi there, I was very interested in having a polished concrete floor on my open plan extension with underfloor heating, but have since been told that because some of the floor is suspended over floor boards and only the extension bit will be concrete (even though they will all now be one big room) It would be costly to change the floorboard section into concrete, so it looks like I might not be able to consider this as an option... Are there any other flooring materials that anyone can suggest/recommend that would be suitable might work? looking for a seamless finish if possible, with same flooring inside and out onto a patio for quite a large area, (still need underfloor heating) would prefer a polished look/feel and if I have to have tiles then I would prefer very large ones, not square. Also as the underneath of the floor will be different is there anything I need to take into consideration? I know nothing about floors, so all advice would be gratefully received. Thanks
