Hi, I'm posting for advice please. I was asking what to do previously on my kitchen splashbacks for new open plan kitchen. We had worktops layed in quartz, Compac Lactea (a white with grey and mirror fleck). At the time we didn't order upstands to match and it is now going to cost too much to order another slab of quartz to cut these upstands. The fitter has been in touch and said the offcut square from our worktops can be cut to make a splashback behind the hob as a square, but we don't have enough surplus to also do upstands. Should I go ahead with the quartz for behind hob (it should sparkle nicely with the worktops) and then just paint the rest of the area in a washable white paint. Do you think upstands are necessary if I have the square laid behind the hob only?
