Yes I picture frothy summer annuals tumbling over them (I don’t do formal lol). Things like Pelargoniums (geraniums), Petunias, Alyssum and Lobelia. There are so many to choose from. Nurseries, markets or even supermarkets have a great selection, They can’t be put outside until the frosts have passed which is usually last week in May depending how far north you are.

I believe they are both echeveria but I am new to plants so I am unsure of exactly which ones they are. please excuse the hole in the second one, I bought it and they put the label on a but of wood going right through the plant.

Shame, it's quite an attractive weed! Still quite tempted to keep it. Right now it's on my living room windowsill, so it's not going to cause problems for anything else, and I can keep a close eye on it to make sure it doesn't affect the olive tree. Any idea why it only appeared in this one pot? There are loads of pots in my greenhouse, and I haven't seen anything like this in any others. My experience of weeds is that they normally take over. The Utricularia that is in the carnivorous plant pots has spread to pretty much every pot in there, as have the various Drosera species I keep (often thought of as the weeds of the carnivorous plant world, although most of us like them). I would suggest Euonymus fortunei . It’s evergreen , can be trimmed back to form a ‘ wall ‘ of leaves and comes in various variegated shades . It’s a moderate grower so won’t take over .
