Need some help on What colour Please - Please help
Comments (14)Greg think you have made a great start, just needs a few colourful statement pieces. Firstly the chest of drawers are fab, my suggestion if you like them would be to utilise them in the lounge either side of the radiator under the window, for storing what looks like cd's the other side of the fireplace in these. You could put the existing cubes either side of the two sofa's. I would ditch the rug in the lounge, and get something bold and bright such as cobalt blue with orange/yellow. In the bedroom, keep the IKEA drawers and paint them either black or dark blue and have them adjacent to each other on the back wall opposite the bed, with the TV on top as someone has already suggested. The art work is great, but would swap it over to where the mirror is and move that elsewhere. Again ditch the rug, maybe an animal skin would work well in here, keeping a masculine feel. Pick some of the colours from the artwork for a well chosen throw and cushions for the bed, and don't be afraid to use some other accessories such as vases, lamps and dare I say candles!...See MoreHelp with glass backsplash colour
Comments (8)Hello Mandy, Have you thought about a plaster colour or something that is like the bare wall as you have it.. I actually really like it!! ... You could have plain transparent glass and painted wall a similar plaster colour underneath...... I think this brings out the warmth, it really opens up the kitchen too and works well with the brown worktop.. and it really works with the oven!! For me the green splash back gives it a cold tone.. It looks really gr8 as it is!... so another suggestion for you before you decide! I have included 2 colours that would be lovely.. both by Little Greene... Rolling fog and Rolling fog pale.. With a transparent glass splash back it would be amazing I think and also is really good with your cabinets.. (Like the style of those too)..but you might hate my suggestion of course! : ) ) Rolling fog pale...See MoreHelp!!! More tiling issues!!!!! Kitchen backsplash this time...
Comments (32)Tiles are one way to introduce some pops of colour in your kitchen. If you are worried about the grout discolouring, use epoxy grout which is more resilient to liquid staining. Also, if you use a coloured grout, discolouration will be less noticeable. If you choose textured tiles with rectilinear edges, grout lines are almost invisible. Using tiles can look more traditional compared to glass or stainless steel. The problem with stainless steel is keeping it looking good. Drip marks and grease are instantly noticeable. Glass is less obvious when splashed. They are both more industrial and modern looking. What about using the same material that makes up your worktop as the splashback? Most manufacturers of manmade worktops also do an 11mm thick splashback and upstand....See MoreHelp with 1942 kitchen renovation backsplash design and tile.
Comments (7)I personally love tiles. I think they add interest. However I had to google Wow Fez tiles as I had no idea what they were! So they are Moroccan hand made style tiles and you are wanting plain white ones? Is that right? Are they like the ones in my second pic? If so, I think they are beautiful. I think metro/subway tiles are a bit boring unless they are an interesting colour. I would tile behind the cooker and up to the window sills. However some people have just an upstand in the same material as the worktop (picture below) and use a washable paint on the rest of the wall. It boils down to personal taste....See More- 10 years agolast modified: 10 years ago
