It has been a few years since I've visited Daventry and it offers some wonderful ideas. I understand it was refurbished not long ago. Appointments are required so that they can offer full attention but only if you require it. They don't like too many people hovering around. I'm sure you'll have a great day.

You mention this is your forever home, but maybe circumstances in future dictate you do move, and a yellow kitchen may not be to everyone's taste and scare off some potential buyers, so maybe introducing the yellow a little more subtly might be considered. We have recently complete a project with yellow accents in the lampshade and range cooker. This could be extended to accessories. However, all of these would be easy to change if required. You mention you love your mother's kitchen, but you do not live with it everyday!

If it's a forever kitchen, then maybe keep the yellow to the walls and not the units themselves. If you get tired of the yellow it's easier to add a lick of paint then to redo the units.

I love the idea of yellow base units. Also love the idea of decorating your home to be your home - we're buying a house soon and I've already picked out some lovely deep colours. You've inspired me to try a deep, mustardy yellow in the kitchen too! I hope you post pictures of your kitchen re-design!

Hi. As it's a little tricky space with 3 doors it may be worth employing a planner. Is there potential to move any doors or block the porch window etc (if the room is light enough). I'm not sure you have enough room to open the oven door safely with a cabinet behind it? I would consider narrow depth base units on the "half" wall opposite the oven for extra storage (and move the rad porch side). The kitchen will also feel much more streamlined if all the appliances are integrated. It may work (?!) if starting from left you go double height larder, ff, wm/TD, sink, DW, hob, space, oven. If you like the yellow then go with it! I would however go for a white worktop with pale grey walls and maybe karndean for the floor with grey and blonde tones. Another option is dark grey units (both yellow and dark grey units may close it in a little) with yellow hexagon tiles on the wall as per the pic in your ideabook (which I also like!).

Aah, good thinking! Perhaps just buy the extra doors now to add on in the future? I can't see the porch window costing too much tbh if it does helpwith layout. Perhaps speak to the planner. I would try at least try to Incorporate the ff personally. Rather than a breakfast cabinet which may cost a fair bit maybe buy a secondhand dresser and paint it? Perhaps a good quality laminate for the worktop? Good luck with your trip to Crown anyway!
