Beige bathroom - help!
Hello Houzzers.....I'm about to inherit this beige bathroom - what can I do to pep it up without doing a total reno? Is there a great colour I can paint what little wall isn't covered in beige tile? Thanks!

Comments (17)Update -- my plumber finally returned. Not sure what he did while here, but he told me again it wasn't working -- then he did some work on a radiator which had a small leak. We were having a long discussion about options on pumps, new showers, taps etc and I read out the installation guide and he tried it again, and suddenly it worked. It is bizarre as I don't know how many times i tried it previously. My friend who works in construction ALSO called earlier today and tried it several times to no avail. It must have been extremely stiff or perhaps the plumber realised some airlock whilst fixing the radiator since I think water pressure is much stronger since he went. Thanks for everyones help -- i learned lots on plumbing and a valuable lesson to take out the installation manuals myself and not trust that trades men know everything!!! Comments (22)Front hallway- I say save your money leave it up. Cost of removal is minor but you will likely have to move radiators and electrics and make good plasterwork and coving- I say protect another £1500 profit. Present the larger back reception as a living room and present the front reception as the dining room. Given that the bathroom is likely to go upstairs make the downstairs bathroom into a room to access the garden- I would present the kitchen as a kitchen/breakfast room with doors to see the garden as being able to see from the front door to the back garden should pay dividend....See MoreBeige, grey or something different for your bathroom?

I rather like the sink and loo as they work with the towel rail and tap fittings.. my suggestion would be to incorporate stone colours as Headers has suggested.. Then add some wood and natural elements for a classy, sophisticated bathroom.. Don't forget the power of an accessory! So firstly my suggestion would be to paint what wall is available in a stone colour, think natural earthy tones in chalky finish in a darker shade to the tiles to give depth to the room..
Do the same with the side of the bath if you like. I also don't think you need change the taps or bath and shower tap but one thing I would suggest is to replace the shower screen with one that is squared off and one that can be situated with a minimal fixture as opposed to the white strip so the glass is as plain as possible.. This would make a big difference..
What about considering a wooden seat for the loo... Perhaps a little wooden stool somewhere and a wooden bath matt would be rather nice too.. and then add some fabulous earthy spa accessories and Hammam towels.. So it's more about adding a little paint and bathing accessories to what you have to make it a more luxurious experience.. : ))

6 years agoI would put down a darker floor - use wood effect tiles. Porcelanosa do a fab range. You could also panel the side of your bath with it. Choose colours that work with the darker colours of the tiles.
