Help please - we've refurbished our house but are now looking to do the front drive, which is currently mainly paved with bricks that have been spoiled during the build and don't go with the period of the house (~1900).
We want some greenery too, along with maybe some cobbles / gravel for parking. Any ideas for designs or other suggestions?
We also need gates - ideally double sliding metal - any idea of anywhere that may do these?

PRO10 years agoI wouldn't go for gravel, you have no idea what a pain it is until you've tried it. We had some down for a couple of years until we changed it for stone. It sticks in shoes, car tyres and can end up all over the pavement unless contained well. Try a grey tone that won't compete with the red brick of the house. Here's a couple we've done.

Comments (29)Update: we bottled out and went for traditional wooden gates in the end! We're delighted with them (and so is our dog who can see right through!). Took the advice to remove the pillar lights and placed uplighters at the bottom of the pillar and planted roses under them.
