Trying to make it a bit more modern. Not a fan of the sofa so will be happy to get rid of it when the extension is built....

I agree with the above comments, the cushions need to relate to the colours you already have. Introducing grey will not work. Mix different sizes and textures for interest.

4 is the way to go. To add that punch that you are looking for.. try a plain navy blue pair in behind and then something lighter in front which using colours from the rug as suggested by Holden Interiors. Please let us see the final design its nice to see how things turn out.

Soft furnishings are often the way to make a scheme cohesive.. So the rug in this case works beautifully with your floor and sofa... So I would be looking to accentuate the whole room with the additional elements such as cushions, throws etc.. I have added a quick visual with cushions both patterned and plain, which work beautifully and you can swap and change for more or less accent depending on what sits in front..

What's best for a sophisticated finish is to group cushions on one side only with a throw on the other.. or arm.. I have included a chair with the throw so you can see.. It's subtle but it works as they compliment rather than contrast.. Thus the eye sees the whole room rather than dart to a cushion.. : ))

Most welcome! The cushions and throw are from OKA which I think work beautifully with your scheme and specifically the rug. They also do really good faux flowers which I work with for clients from this shop which would also be nice for your side table..

Most welcome, yes do have a look and in case you want to look further at what I picked out.. They are as follows..

Raw Silk- Vintage Rose, Grenadine- Red/Gold, and the throw is Eliza- Paisley. They have quite a range and so you may find more you like.. The red cushion is a nice addition too isn't it. It's rather dull here too today but you have a lovely view so I wouldn't imagine it's dull at all.. Thank you that's lovely, yes you have a lovely day too! : ))

Hi I think the tyoe of cushion as well as the colour is important. I think a suashy cushion (probably feather) would look much better than a stiff one and I would personally go with cream. .
