Is it already built? Looks like a 3D render? If not already built then yes I would put some ceiling spotlights in. It looks like you have a narrow strip of flat ceiling (80cm)? if so I would put the spots there. Perhaps angleable spots on a track rather than recessed downlights as that gives you more options for where you point the lights. Then you will also want some lights in the low corners, I would put in plug sockets (perhaps 5amp ones wired to the light circuit) so you can have lamps in the low corners You might also want a wall light or two above the breakfast bar If it is already built it’s a very different kettle of fish and will depend on what is easiest to get wiring to. Might be the ceiling if you can access from the floor above, or the walls if not.

I might try farrow and ball Cromarty for the walls, you can colour match to Johnstone’s to keep the budget down. It’s hard to know what styles you like from the photos. Are you also talking modern geometric, lines or circles etc as you don’t have any idea books setup? That particular wall Is also a little tricky with a big radiator. Another idea is colour blocking, you’d need to incorporate the radiator within the design as they’ve done with the door

Did you have a damp report before renovating, and did you have specialists in to do the renovations? If so, the work might be under guarantee??? If not, I would get a damp specialist around - they usually come and give free advice.

Hi, Cant quite see where the damp course is in the existing building or the new extension. It could be a breach of the damp course in the existing building through the bricks on the new extension if it hasn't been done correctly. google damp course issues.
