Hi. If the sofa can't be turned perhaps a console table behind it? Maybe in future think about a larger textured rug that the sofa feet can sit on to zone that area. I'd just go for 4 cushions, 2 in each corner with a textured throw over the chaise. I'd bring in the grey and then for colour maybe a shade of green, eau de nil, light cooking Apple or grass green if you want something bolder. A set of art prints over the sofa, approx 2/3 of sofa width. I think you also just need some accessories for the tables and when in budget perhaps some more lighting? A cheap one for the coffee table is a couple of piles of book or magazines and a plant. Perhaps a fur throw for the bench? I'm biased re the flowers as I have them! (oka?) .Viburnum in a deep purple would look good but they appear to have stopped selling them. You can take the vase in the shop and ask for them to add some foliage if I'm right on the shop! You could try a large mirror at the end of the dining table to bounce some light. I think everything is great, it just needs accessories.

You have a lovely home! I like your sofa, beautiful kitchen, lovely dining furniture... What you miss is texture. Every large surface is flat and shiny. Which makes it feel cold and without personality.

If you really like to have cushions, go for something solid in colour, but really textured, like velvet or wool or fake fur. But I don't think that cushions really go with the sleek style of your sofa.

More importantly, you need a much larger rug, art on the walls, some lovely (glass?) objects in the niches and some more lamps. An arch lamp with the sofa for example.

Are those paintings? Or rugs? I like them, whatever they are really. Will give your home personality and warmth. You've got a good base, you just need finishing touches and it will all come together.

Hi. Have you considered painting the tv wall? This is little Greene adventurer 7. The cushion is from Oka and would team with their damson velvet one (or a cheaper one!). Try cushions just where Carolins has pictured for now. I'd add a mink sheepskin rug over the back of the sofa where the cushions would be. Haven't looked properly but Cox and Cox have one for £75. Add a tall green plant in the corner by patio doors and tv wall. If you still have the paint, I'd move the art along to the right and add a floor lamp where Carolins suggested before. For the island try either faux eucalyptus from Cox and Cox (maybe the burgundy ones) or faux pussy willow from m&s, currently 3 for 2! Maybe clear some of the things you don't need from the worktop, move the herb here and add a chopping board (sainsburys do a marble and wood one for £15) and add a pestle and mortar and then add a couple of mustard accessories. As I said before I also think some kind of furry seat pad, cushion, throw etc would be great for the dining table.

How odd re the cushions, the sofa back doesn't look particularly high! I like the 2nd look with the dark grey/brown? Ikat and then mustard velvet in front. I don't think colour is necessarily as important as texture and flowers/plants always add life. Have you found any similar in that size?

I absolutely love what you've done. Really elegant and classy.

I would put cushions in a plush fabric (chenille?) and in a bright, warm colour like orange (only one colour, not patterned) and maybe find some orangey artwork. The bonus of this over painting is you can change it much more readily.

Saw this on Asda website (£7). Although I think I'd get something even brighter. (Might look brighter in real life.)

Debenhams have some for £12. Again, looks a bot dull but this might just be the on-line pictures.
