Bedside table - Shabby Chic?

Hello

Could do with some advice, I have the Willis & Gambier Camille Low End Bed and need some help with which bedside tables I should get to go with it.

I didn't want to get the matching bedside cabinets because I wanted something in white or cream to keep the room light. I really like the shabby chic style but I think it can be a little bit too much so was thinking to mix it up a little. Should I just get some french style bedside tables in white? Or just some normal square ones? Then what do I do about the chest of drawers? I currently have a very large set of black Malm drawers from Ikea but I would like to replace these.

Would appreciate any advice.

Hi. Do you have a picture of the room? I like your idea to bring in something contemporary and the bed in the picture is very similar to yours. I do think the table would sit better ideally on a hardwood floor or maybe a patterned rug, or even quite a flat weave carpet though. I'd go for a French antique chest of drawers either in a neutral painted finish or the oak. I also quite like the idea of adding a ghost chair but with a throw or cushion so it doesn't look too samey. I quite like this mirror too:)

Hello dear selenalouise it depends on what you want for kind if you want white, cool, ideas, vintage, black or IKEA models.? And also in this type what in the sort of white do you need for instance modern or children's ....

Definitely something along the classic look. The glass / mirrored ones clash in style far too much. This one from Worldstores in cream with the limed oak finish would sit well with the beautiful bed. I think white may be too stark, so off white or cream.

Bschr thanks for the advice , but the flowers are the cover the paw print from my "beloved" cat ! Who thought it was a great idea to walk on my table the day after ... And left a lovely paw print in the middle ! - I will probably sand it out next weekend and repaint :-) - will hopefully have the new fabric for the chairs too .

Just taking a wild guess but if you like shabby chic you might also like the Voilieres bird cage chandelier seen here in a room mixing old and "new". I also love panelling effect wallpaper which I think could work well in your room (mineheart.com)

Thank you everyone for your suggestions!! I really like the idea of something of white/cream to soften the look. I didn't want anything too modern but I didn't want everything to be matching either. These are all great options but definitely want light/cream coloured furniture which will work in harmony rather than stand out as statement pieces. That website is amazing minnie101!

Hi, yes I really love some of the things on that website although not to everyone's taste! I like the style of the table but think an aged white would work better. I personally would look at antiques, you can pick things up quite cheaply on eBay etc. If you can't find something in the right colour you can always paint it?
