PRO10 years agoHaving fitted dozens of gloss kitchens, I don't get any negative feedback in terms of requiring extra cleaning. Micro fibre cloths are your friend! They don't need any more cleaning than matt finishes. Gloss grey is a popular colour.

Comments (10)The layout of your new kitchen will depend on a number of factors, not least where the waste water from your sink, dishwasher and any other appliance that uses water, enters the drainage system. Moving any of these is not normally a problem but you may be restricted as to where certain appliances need to be positioned in the kitchen because of where the drains are. Comments (20)Jonny Brighton - some more questions, what is the main purpose of your island? Will it be used for preparing dinner etc? The panel doors to the lounge, is that an existing opening or is that going to be new? Where is your fridge? Will all 4 sides of the table always be used the same time? ( You could place it aside nearer one of the walls if the dining table is not fully seated all the time ). It really depends on what your priorities and how you see yourself using the area. We're going to start a similar project too, similar size to yours but our kitchen area will be where your kids space/living space is and our living space towards the garden end. I orginally wanted an island too as they look good but I also wanted a huge dinner table, keep the rear extension part free from dining table, kitchen units so might decide to ditch the island and have a wide peninsular instead as 'workspace'....See MoreAcrylic Kitchen Mistake Advice Needed
Comments (10)You'd normally fit the drawer handles in the middle of the fascias. The dishwasher handle could have been dropped down but it's a personal choice. Most are fitted towards the top. I don't think anyone will notice as they are not together. I'd leave it....See More- PRO10 years ago

10 years ago- 10 years agoI've just had my kitchen fitted (still not quite finished). We have light grey gloss units on the walls with a dark grey gloss island, worktops are Silestone white platinum. I have white walls and will be adding blue glass light shades over the island and other blue accessories. Doesn't look dark at all. We were a little worried about it dating but grey is a neutral colour and I think it will be fine. White kitchens look great but just a bit boring and safe in my opnion. We have grey wood effect tiled floor which I love. Excuse the mess this is a new extension and I've moved my kitchen to the opposite side of the house so I'm still using my old kitchen. The electrician is back to finish off tomorrow then I will be moving in. I can't wait.

- 10 years agoIt is a hard decision especially when it cost so much. The photos don't really do ours justice they make it look a bit dull but it's actually very bright. We have coloured LED's under the wall cabinets, above the wall cabinets and on the plinths so we can change the colour to whatever we like. Just gives it a different look. Good luck with it.
