You could do something clever like put a wine rack or open shelving rather than a cupboard. You could also use the space to hold trays or have a spice rack. Here's a few examples of what we've done:

You need an L shaped carcase that is normally 900 x 900mm. It fits into the corner and then both doors open. You can have both doors open together or have them open individually. This then gives you access to the whole area.

If you do not have space for this size and have to have a long base unit e.g. 1000mm then you will need some sort of chrome pull out to save kneeling to grab what's stored at the back.

Don't buy cheap chromeworks. They're a waste of money and time. Do opt for a decent brand like Hafele.

Sometimes ( in larger kitchens ) after discussion with clients - we simply void a corner of it looks like it might be awkward ! Life's too short to faff about !!!

Did you consider having a pull out storage solution to have an easy access?

No because I have a pull out larder and also 2 smaller pull outs. I have a big square kitchen with a centre island and more than enough space.
