Comments (8)I have made bespoke headboards before not quite as big as you are looking for. They were then upholstered by a local company to where I was working. This was built and secured directly to the wall and the bed then pushed up to. I would then make a framed mirror to be fitted before the upholsterer has done their bit and the fabric can be finished off around the frame of the mirrors to make it look built in rather than an add on. Comments (26)I would go with three or five, beautiful restful colours. I would also align the tables and lamps to the centre of each panel. Would that mean getting a bigger bed? - 9 years agoIf you're making it from scratch just apply it to the foam. The foam is easily available now and you can also buy it online. The foam has different densities so make sure it's relatively firm. You can also get stockinette to go over it if you want (we never do) and have made 6 of our own headboards. Here's the one in our guest bedroom. We had sufficient fabric left over for some cushions.
