This idea is good. I have a porch that is not filled in with glass around the sides or a door, it just has the four upright posts and the tiled roof. This is great but it still lets in rain and draughts. I have draught proofed the door etc and the cold from the glass then goes indoors. So my advice to you and me is to get the bits filled in and fit a porch and put up heavy door curtains. Can I ask - does an infill require planning permission, as I already have the structure? For the OP - the porch should be designed to fit in with the existing building otherwise it has the danger of looking like a big carbuncle stuck onto the house. For that reason, take your lead from the bay windows. I'd brick the sides up to the same level as the bottom of the window in the bays then glaze with similar frames and glass. The door can be the same as what you're proposing but keep the glass the same as on your house - TBH, the photo of the door doesn't look like mirrored glass, I think it's just the reflection from the photo (I might be wrong?!?). The roof can be the same as you have and either brick the front gable or glaze it.

The trouble with enclosed porches is that they can become scruffy dumping grounds, dirty boots, wet umbrellas, loved only by spiders, liable to damp. If not big enough a difficult scramble getting in and out, shutting doors etc. Open porches much better (love yours Klass). Have opened up the porches on both of my last two houses!
