Hi, I've now had quartz worktops fitted in a white with grey and mirror flecks (compact lactea) & attach photos. Cabinets are all done too. My next area is what to do for splashback behind the hob/under the extractor. I originally wanted to do red glass across the length of the wall, but we have had under unit lights fitted below the higher cabinets and at night I can change these to any colour I want. If I do red all across I won't get the effect of the lights. Not even sure red would go? The wooden chairs are going and will be replaced & I still need to choose my island lights (thinking 3 pendants hanging). Husband thinks stainless steel sheet behind hob. I'm not sure this will look right with dark glass hob under it & wonder if it is hard to look clean all the time. What ideas do you all have as you helped with the worktops. I also show the dining table and the new open lounge area (intend to put a rug down). We also still need to find wall lights.

Hi rubydiffey, I agree with Kharis & Kale, a metro tile would be great using a couple of colours to create a pattern and some interest. There is another company that uses a slightly different shaped tiles to create a pattern in the tiles. UV Printing lasts for 70+ years. Moreover, by UV you can also do the plain colour splashback that you initially decided for, but it is going to be slightly cheaper. I can have a walk through our workshop with a camera as we have one (60x60cm) black splashback in stock waiting to be posted. #Edit: Toughened and Heat resistant is a must-have feature! Otherwise, it will not usually last for longer than few weeks, it is too easy to smash annealed glass (standard type).

I've ordered some samples: https://tileweb.co.uk/globe-25x75-gris-gloss-glazed-ceramic-tile.html and https://tileweb.co.uk/globe-25x75-blanco-gloss-glazed-ceramic-tile.html Both are gloss and tend to reflect the light, these 2 tiles were picked mainly for their pattern and size at 25x75 to cover the overall 48cm height of the splashback, I'll see how they look like with my layout. I also liked the splashback of the first picture sent by Sonia, which company was that from? As Lynn suggested, a darker silver grey colour or any darker grout matching the same tile, or even no grout at all would be my choice. For now, I wish you all a Happy new year. Thank you again :) Fab
