Jonathandb1972, I was thinking of going with a grout that is the same colour or lighter than the grey tile. The hex will be grouted in a medium grey. This has already been done in the loo (the hex) and looks great. Neither are grouted in the above picture. Do you think there will still be issues with where the grout lines are if they are the same or lighter than the tile? Also, where the hex tile in the shower meets the grey tile will mainly be covered by the shower's profile. However, the shower only goes up to about 2m, so there will still be a visible "meeting" of tiles above that. My builder is a little concerned about how this will look as he will have to cut small pieces of tile to fill up the edge, which may stain once they start grouting. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hoping for the best...

Porcelain is a tough tile which will not crack or break easily. they are very long lasting. vinyl is out dated and just doesn't look good. Your other option should be ceramic tiles. So it should be between ceramic and porcelain. I'd still recommend porcelain but ceramic is cheaper, that's the biggest advantage of ceramic. That's interesting colourhappy - we did omit the aqua tiles and put just the taupe with blanco (which has some grey tones in the variations) but it looked a little bland which is why we thought the aqua might liven it up but now I'm thinking you are right and they are too cool for the flagstones.

On top of the skirting? No way! I think that would look awful. Far too bulky in a sleek designed room. We have an ensuite which has the wall tiles sitting on top of the floor tiles to give the impression of more of a wet room effect. We also have a main bathroom and in here have the floor tiles cut to the size of the skirting that was originally in there height wise and then placed on top of the floor tiles So one room has nothing and the other room has the floor tiles up the wall as a skirting.
