tiled skirting in a bathroom - using wall or floor tiles?

Thanks to everyone who helped with my tiling to the ceiling or not on my other thread - I decided to go full height in the bath/shower area. Which leaves the other 3 walls to work out. Picture of my bathroom mock up attached so you know what I'm talking about (ignore the tiles!!!).

I'm going to at least half tile the WC/sink wall in the same larger format concrete tiles but I'm struggling to work out how the skirting will work in this situation?

ie. I want some pattern in the room (see the tile example attached of geometric pattern) but if I tile the floor in this and the bath panel goes to the floor and the half tiled wall goes to the floor, I can't really skirt in the patterned tile as surely it would look odd on just two walls??

Would I skirt in the concrete tile so the bottoms of all the walls is all concrete and the floor lines won't line up?

Another option is to do the concrete on the floor and not the half wall and then somehow use the patterned tile on the sink wall? Argh, I've decided that I am useless at designing bathrooms on a budget. The sink will be a tiled shelf as well so have to work that in...

I can't afford to tile the whole room as it's £40sqm for these tiles plus extra wastage as they are huge so that's not an option.

Ok - so had a chat with the tile company and what about this....

Concrete floor, bath and back walls, skirting. Then patterned tiles as a half wall on the WC/sink area sat on top of the skirting??

On top of the skirting? No way! I think that would look awful. Far too bulky in a sleek designed room.

We have an ensuite which has the wall tiles sitting on top of the floor tiles to give the impression of more of a wet room effect.

We also have a main bathroom and in here have the floor tiles cut to the size of the skirting that was originally in there height wise and then placed on top of the floor tiles

So one room has nothing and the other room has the floor tiles up the wall as a skirting.

Hi Tony! Thank you. They don't meet - we have chalk white shaker panelling on the lower half of 3 of the walls, the ledge of which is painted a gloss muted olive paint, then pale blue on the wall above. The metro tiles are zoned around the bath and shower (with gloss olive shaker bath panelling on the side of the bath). We have raw wooden furniture in the bathroom, with a Belfast sink and water spout taps so we opted for the shaker finish to compliment the floor tiles.

Hi Dundrum, sorry I don’t think grey would go at all, It was more to show you the variety of styles in vinyl rather than the colour. Here’s some more appropriate, warm shades, creams and beiges as well as wood effect. If you have time, visit a flooring shop and you will see 100s of examples, that’s what I did. I did also choose a Moroccan patterned vinyl below, but I’m not sure the shade is quite right? I really like the first dark wood effect one.

I wonder whether a darker wood effect tile would work on the floor? Darker wood seems to create a more classy feel whereas the pale wood tiles (which are nice) seem more beachy.

Hi Daisy

Not wood skirting but tiled skirting, sorry.

I'm not tiling the other walls except the wc wall and that's half tiled so I will need some sort of tile skirting on the other two walls.

My options are either the concrete all the way around the 3 walls and then the patterned tiles will be tiled above this on the wc wall.
Or that wall won't have the concrete skirting and it will just be on the other 3 walls. If that makes sense?
