Bathroom idea

In our new bathroom we will probably add a bath which neither of us use. I was wondering if it might be a good idea to add the bath and the shower (wet room type shower) with a nice bench (the type used in spa steamroom) into one enclosure. It would feel roomy and could be attractively lit but I am wondering if this is very expensive to achieve and what are the pros and cons. We would appreciate your comments and suggestions. p.s. at this stage we can design the ensuit and bathroom pretty much to our needs. Thanks in advance

I usually find that the expense is always in the finish ie; Style of tiles etc. You can build inexpensively, it's just what you use to complete the project in the way of tiling, flooring, bathroom suites, taps, shower heads,

Hi Richard, I'm happy to help but I need some more information. Where is your soil pipe? How much space is in the floor in order to move pipes around if necessary. What is currently in the space. I would try to put the bath under the window if possible and keep the shower away from the window. What is the height of the window sill? Try not to have the toilet in plain view when you enter the room.

This looks a similar size room with door positioning just like one of our en-suites so I can let you how we did ours… Move the toilet to your shower position so it’s not seen when opening the door. Move the shower (open wet room style shower with just a screen) to where you have the toilet and sink. Move the sink to the side of the shower in the diagonally opposite corner to the door, facing the toilet. I think you’ll feel that it’s more spacious than your current layout.

Hi,

An important note to consider here.

If selling the property in the future, having a bath with a bath/shower mixer tap and shower screen may help towards highly regarded viewings, in comparison to only having a shower in the property.

In terms of expense, it depends on the materials and finishes desired as suggested above!
