Ceiling paint colour!

I have a sloped ceiling in all of our bedrooms and landing, and am thinking of painting them the same colour as the walls to avoid awkward junctions. Would this look ok?

Hi, I have a similar house and did exactly that. I think it looks too choppy to paint them different colours/tones. Our landing also has a sloping ceiling and this was trickier as the colour needed to work on the walls, ceiling and downstairs in the hall. I cracked it with different Farrow and Ball colours, depending on the aspect.

Definitely Wevet on the ceiling as well. Doing this means you don't see the 'join' of the roof and walls and makes the room feel much bigger. We did this with my mum's 300 year old cottage bedrooms in New White. It looked gorgeous.

I wouldn't describe that as any type of dado, that is just ceiling coving which is generally treated as part of the ceiling, painted same colour as ceiling. However you do whatever you want with it..... its your house!

I think you would actually be ok with taking the color over it all. It probably depends more on how you wanted the room to feel. The current lighter tone gives space to the room, but your selection Oval Room Blue, would probably give you a more intimate feel. With white items such as wardrobes etc, it could end up giving a coastal feel which you could build on as a theme with linen bedclothes, lampshades, blinds.

Hoping to get some thoughts before I order today! I've spoken with advisor at F&B who said that Pointing is a universal neutral and will work beautifully with Skimming Stone. So! The plan is to paint the fireplace in Pointing and also the architraves, will this still work if the ceiling is being painted white from picture rail upwards? Or will it all look off? Also, the advisor suggested dead flat or eggshell for the woodwork and fireplace. If I'm using Modern Emulsion, would eggshell be better, although I am not into too much shine! I wonder if I'm over thinking it all! Thanks for any perspectives you can offer 🙂

Hello. It would certainly work. It is an elegant, cohesive look and easy to achieve. However we would advise to never paint a ceiling dead white because all white paint has a bit of gray in it, and it takes the room down. Choose a cream shade instead.

I think all white can work in a light drenched ultra modern interior, but it can be Arctic in gloomier spaces.

Thanks. That is really helpful. I am using farrow and ball setting plaster, elephants breath and yellow ground in different rooms so will go for it I think. I agree white is easier but not so cosy!
