You have a lot of reflective surfaces in your photos so I imagine you may be drawn towards the polished idea?. We have natural wood stripped doors and we put matt chrome so it fades away. I hope that helps a bit.

I think a dark browny bronze is a really good colour to go with cashmere. and could also work with gold, chrome is a bit too blue. If you keep the gold handles ( I think they look really nice) then I wouldn't duplicate it too much. I would add wooden bar stools. My sister's kitchen is the same colour, she has used lots of bronze, dark browny violets and wood.

I'd agree with white, good quality white. Goes with anything, doesn't look outdated, easy clean. Good luck
