I've just designed my own walk in wardrobe after doing them for clients for years. I'm going for the "Carrie from Sex and the City" layout, where you walk through the wardrobe to the ensuite. Unfortunately, my wardrobe will not be stuffed full of designer labels though! NB it is also the pre Mr Big wardrobe, yikes, don't ever think I'd have a house big enough for that one!!!

This isn't intending to make much change up stairs. I would suggest (1) adding a wood and brick porch (2) move the kitchen to the back, creating a n open kitchen family space and put a formal living/ reception space at the front (3) depending on the ceiling height moving stairs on the side just after the toilet will make a mini u shape, which means the stairs will start with a landing by the end of the toilet and you might end up loosing what seems to be a master bathroom cause of the stairs height restriction ( someone will needd to visit the house and take measurements to get a full picture). The best option will be to have an extension of a minimum 1.5m; this will allow you to move the master to the back of the house with ensuite on the wall udjucent to the stairs. Another option you might want to consider is removing the downstairs toilet, put stairs about two metres or so from the front door and then put the toilet under the stairs. this will allow you to have the whole left side of the house to do whatever you want to do with. Good luck.

consider putting your bed in the dressing room and wardrobes and dressing area near the ensuite in the current master bedroom. Perhaps more than one opening through would be good.

Hello all! My first post here! I would like to please have suggestions / advice from the wonderful members here, if possible! I just recently purchased an apartment, which has an Ensuite bathroom. It has both a separate shower cubicle and a bathtub, as can be seen in the photos. The bathtub is hardly ever used, and of course as a woman, I need more wardrobe space! I have built in wardrobes (photo attached) next to the door to the bathroom and the corner back of wardrobe is to the left of the bathroom, as you walk in, creating a bulge in the corner of the bathroom (also in photo). I am thinking of moving the shower cubicle to be where the bathtub is, opposite the toilet, and remove the bathtub completely. The sink can be moved along to be on the right hand side corner next to the toilet, as opposed to being in the middle, where it is now. I would then have the toilet and the shower cubicle only, not including the sink, have a decorative sliding door separating them and the rest of the space. For the rest of the space, I was thinking to knock down the back wardrobe corner bulge, but leaving the actual wardrobe railings etc in tact, and in that area / space between the left of the sink as it is currently and the corner bulge, I can create a dressing table space, as there is a mirror on the wall there (and I can add another standing mirror to the table) and where the shower cubicle was, I can add some extra wardrobe railings / clothes / shoes / handbags storage space. In the bedroom, where the wardrobes are, next to the entry to the Ensuite, I am thinking of removing the wardrobe doors as well as the bathroom door. The little piece of wall between the wardrobes and the bathroom door may need to stay there for structural reasons (not sure) but if not and I can actually remove that piece of wall, I am thinking of having one large sliding door to cover the entry to the wardrobes and the bathroom, or if I have to keep the bit of wall, knock down the wall on the right side of the bathroom door and have a second sliding door there to enter the bathroom. I guess if I cannot knock the little piece of wall, I may not be able to knock any of the wall … so I am not sure if this would work. Any thoughts / advice / suggestions would be much appreciated.
