Comments (17)Hello jodg, I see well that's not quite what I had in mind : ) ) ... perhaps consider the closet idea for your bedroom... Regarding the shower screen...possibly an overhead curtain rail as opposed to a glass screen... It negates the need for a wall to fix the glass sheet to.. Or and this one requires more plumbing.. move the loo... in order to leave a smaller bath at that end of the bathroom.. If not then you can enclose the stairs and then fix the shower screen to the "wall" and keep bath at that end and loo and sink at the other end.. possibly losing the storage element under the stairs, which isn't ideal for what you want but it's possible you could create both.. if not smaller storage... : ))...See MoreFinished the renovation on our Main Bathroom
Comments (29)Mirror was a Wayfair Bargain Sam - half price ! The niche and shelves should have a tiny weeny fall on them, practically imperceptible, but enough for the water to run off them. I don't know what colour your tiles are, but maybe you could try that non-slip matting stuff that you can put on the top of washing machines, counter tops to stop them getting scratched. It's got holes all over it, so the water will run off, but it will stop your bottles slipping. They sell it on Amazon and in Dunelm. Comments (6)Have a look at the houses of your criteria for sale in your area and see if it is common. I would also speak to an estate agent to get their view as they see a lot of houses and receive feedback from viewings. I don't think anyone has ever lost a sale because of a lack of a bath but that depends entirely on who is thinking of purchasing and their circumstances. If you think you might want to sell to a young family one day then maybe keep the bath. Not a dealbreaker but the more work someone has to do to develop a house to their requirements and taste the less they will offer. I also think it depends entirely on where the house is situated and the community. It's more modern to have a shower in place of a bath but I would make sure it has a separate hand shower for convenience for little people or hair washing/rinsing at least....See More- 9 years ago

1. Leave walls as is, but go bright on floor tiles, per this pic...
- 9 years ago2. Try a diffrent coloured, but still patterned tile. Something that isnt so "matchy" with wall colour palette...
- 9 years ago3. Go for plainer tiles and then go bold on wallpaper...(there is good waterproof stuff out there)

PRO9 years agoHi, Porcelanosa offer a lovely range of patterned tiles, the dover antique tile has a mixture of coloured patterns ranging from grey, blue, beige and taupe which would look lovely against a painted bath. To change you design slightly you could have a plain tile on the floor with the pattern feature behind the bath?

The 'old london' range at victorian plumbing is good. You could swap out the sink for this unit and complementing cabinet, and also possibly add the cabinet over the sink to match? Just a thought.
If you don't like those options, there is also this handy stand alone unit which I think will work well :-
9 years agoI love patterned tiles and have used Porcelanosa Barcelona B tiles in two of my bathrooms. The colour palette is very versatile as it contains blue, rust, anthracite and off white. The colours in your image are very austere and I would reconsider a warmer palette. Excuse photo but this give an idea.
- 9 years agoBefore changing the tiles I would change the paint, a lot easier and less costly!
I think a deep colour like stiffkey blue. I don't buy farrow and ball though I use dulux using this website:

And then add storage and artwork.

Nice render. The bathroom, rendered like this at least, looks dark and a bit gloomy. I'd go waaaaaay lighter on the walls, to a very light grey.
With the floor tiles I'd do something a bit more subtle like this and paint the lower half of the bath the same grey as the wall (not black like in the photo):
And those shower tiles are looking just a bit drab, I would replace those with marble tiles that have a bit more tonal variety and some pretty borders/alcoves to add interest and depth, like this:
I'd die without bathroom storage so I'd swap out the sink for one with white storage underneath.
Would love to know what you end up doing!
