Frames gallery wall

Hello,
Looking for advice on how I should position these frames on my wall. I've attached a picture of the wall and how I was thinking of having the frames but I'm not sure. I need a minimum of 2 to be landscape. Thanks in advance!

2, portrait, side by side with about 160mm between. Offset to left hand side(not central) and fairly low.

Just looking at photo again, bottom of frames about the same height as the top of the beam over the fire place.
Try it. Get someone to hold them in place and experiment.

Hello again all and sorry for the delay! i have now got a throw and started to extend my gallery over the corner. I grabbed an old chair and rug that were kicking about in my parents' garage and put them in the corner to give me some idea of what i want. actually, i kinda like the beat-up chair but i don't think the rug looks right. is it too small? Now i have the reddish throw (LOVE it... from the Avoca shop in Belfast - amazing place, if you are ever in Belfast do go!!) I am actually considering replacing my blind because i prefer red tones to the turquoise. Just not sure what I would get instead? Still need a fab lamp and more cushions but wisdom says wait for the January sales! I still think I need something more eyecatching on my vanity too... Considering a map above my bed but I don't know if it would compete with the gallery wall too much? have to say i do love the "hello" sign!

It can depend on what you have to work with. If you have lots of pictures you can stack them on top of each other like this: or you can level things at the top. You can mix different sizes like this: Another really good idea is to buy two very long display shelves with a lip at the edge. That way you can change things around and as the bottoms are level it looks consistent. I think one unifying factor is a good idea such as different sizes and frames but limited colour, or everything different but levelled at top or bottom.

You could try cutting out pieces of coloured paper the same size as the frames, then put them on the wall with blue tack, when you see them on the wall it might give you a better idea of how you want them. Once you're happy with the layout, mark where you want the picture hooks or whatever to be, actually put them in then tear the paper away from round them, then hang your pictures. Xxx

the paper cut out method suggested above is good advice. Consider all landscape, 2 rows of 3. Consider 3 landscape in a column with a portrait flanking on either side. Try to make sure that the subject matter is similar in all the frames -so all black and white photographs of people, or all leaf paintings etc. That gives an elegant and cohesive feel to the group and gives it a reason to be there. Hope that helps

Personally i wouldnt put them up uniform. i like the attached informal way
