It sounds like it could be very calm, elegant backdrop to a statement splash of colour; be that in the form of splash back tiles, artwork, pendant light, dining chairs, plants, or similar. Plus the oak flooring will add warmth.

I think the plain white quartz will look really good. I must confess to being a fairly big hater ( sorry ) of the marble veined quartz, maybe it's my age and having been there and done that with actual marble a couple of decades ago, for me it's an old fashioned look that's been resurrected.

So I agree with the person above, add your colour elsewhere with accessories such as storage cans, a colourful coffee machine etc

hi Sunny Day, Apart from the well known brands, Silestone, Compac, Caesarstone, Arenastone, Unistone, Cimstone, Quartzforms, Quarella Stone, Technistone, Diresco, are all good quality Quartz composite stones. please bear in mind that from sample to slab and batch their maybe a variance in shade. to throw into the mix a change in texture

For quartz cheaper than Silestone & Caesarstone, you have to be careful that you are getting good quality. Some alternatives aren't good. And by good quality, I mean good quality quartz, good quality machining, templating, flexibility at installation (e.g. some machining on site can be helpful to ensure tidy up stands, edges) etc.

I went through finding an alternative earlier this year. My research led me to two companies. One was Rock & Co which offers a product called Urban Quartz in a large range of colours. They have a showroom in Hertfordshire, near St Albans. There was also another company called Cambridge Worktops which is linked to Stoneworld in Kendal, which offered a quartz product called Cliveden Quartz. .

There were minor differences between what they were offering in terms of the quartz products and their processing, and logistics -- and each company wanted me to believe that their approach was great and the other's approach was inappropriate. But after a lot of questioning I had the feeling that I was willing to deal with either company. And in both cases their prices involved a significant saving.

In the end I contracted with Rock & Co because they had the shade of off white that I liked best. They exceeded my expectations in some respects; met expectations in many respects, and fell short just in some. So I can't say the process was issue free, but I can same that I am overall happy, and that our quartz countertop is now installed and it looks amazing.

I have white (not glossy) cabinets and a solid white Corian countertop on my kitchen peninsula. Doesn't look at all cold and clinical, but then again I have some wooden chopping boards resting against the wall, usually have a bunch of fresh flowers on the counter and/or a big bowl of fruit.

With your wooden floor, I think all white will look gorgeous.

(I also have Dekton Calacatta in another part of the kitchen, combined with black cabinets and absolutely love that too.)
