DIY Flooring Kitchens

help with kitchen

Hi all. I need advice with this kitchen. I like the cupboards but I hate the work tops and flooring. Any advice on what colours I could replace them with as I hate the beige/ brown look (was like this when I moved in). Thanks x

Take a look at this page here, there are many real life examples of people’s kitchens that may give you some food for thought.

Your first main consideration to make though is do you want to stick with a traditional look or do you want to go for a more modern high gloss door or a smooth matt painted one?

Here are some inspiration images. You could Introduce whites, greys and blacks into the colour scheme.

Would you consider a natural stone or a porcelain like Dekton? Dekton have some really beautiful colours that lean more cream and would work really well with your existing kitchen. Have a look at the options available. https://www.cosentino.com/en-ie/colours/?utm_campaign=&utm_content=&gad_source=1 Quartz worktops (particularly white :/) are actually a lot less stain resistant than what suppliers lead you to believe, and also can chip quite easily on the edges.

Initial suggestion: Remove the full height storage (which makes the room feel smaller) Relocate the radiator and add a counter running across this back wall. Move the oven to a more central location so it is more pleasant to cook there, while keeping the sink in a similar position under the window. Hi Sian,

We'd suggest white marble worktops and an ashen parquet floor to bring a contemporary feel to the space. Some brass accessories could look rather lovely too.
