Help with paint colour for kitchen walls please
Comments (0)I have cream units with dark charcoal work tops and medium oak floor. The tiled splasback is three colours of cream, light and dark grey. I painted the walls in a truffle colour but it's turned out a lilac grey and I hate it. Can anyone help with a colour for the walls please. I don't like bold colours....See MoreKitchen paint colour help needed!!
Comments (17)Wow, I had to make a cup of tea for this one. Orange and red are your two main colours here (copper, wood, worktops and red items) and yes, green or blue/green is the complementary, but there are a million options and they don't need to be saturated. At the moment the red and green are fighting for attention so the new wall colour needs to be 'quieter'. If you want to show the true beauty of the copper, then I would avoid strong colours and go for something moody. I would paint most of the walls a cool pale neutral and then go for one wall in a punchy edgy colour that complements the red without having a fist fight with it. It could be a cool neutral with Mouses Back (which looks fabulous with red). My favourite edgy colour is Little Greene 'Light Bronze Green" 123 which I have in my kitchen with Skimming Stone - see below (and image 2 with red picture). Does any of that make sense?...See MoreKitchen Paint colours - Please help!
Comments (2)We will be repainting existing doors as we got a second hand kitchen. Other possibility is to replace doors as I would prefer shaker style but either way we would need to paint part of the existing units. I'll attach a picture of our new units in their previous situ....See MoreHelp, What colour can I paint my kitchen please
Comments (8)Hi, Using colour: I would stay neutral for the walls above the units; a great colour example of this is 'Strong White' by Farrow and Ball and then for the wall on the left of the photo I would have this as a feature all and go for a darker tone such as 'Green Blue' by Farrow and Ball. Using lighting: spotlights are great as they can provide an even spread of light in your kitchen, especially if you are limited in natural light. Due to having a dark coloured back splash, having under cabinet spotlights on a separate electrical circuit would provide additional lighting on the worktop area in the evening and night hours. The installation looks great so far !
