They are sliding. We deliberated at length. Our architect was always in favoir of sliding. They felt they were more contemporary in look but the main reason was that most of the year they are closed and so we had less panels and less frame with the sliding. I am so glad we went with their advice because we get such a lovely lot of light and connection with the garden with fewer panels and frame. The sliding mechanism works beautifully and there is lots of light. When open they take up no space in the garden. The only downside is on a massively sunny day when you may get the urge to sling doors right back and open like bifold but you have to remember that there is usually then still the width of the stack of doors at the end and for us over our width of opening and with the doors we chose that would have meant 5 bifold doors stacked up. At least when our sliding are open you can still see through the glass of the end panel. Ours slide 2 over one so 2/3 is open. And they can slide to either end. Hope that helps.

That colour was f&b stony ground which is actually red based but I think must have some green in, I thought it would work with the terracotta tiles. Something like the lighter shaded white may also work although colours are normally a couple of shades lighter on the exterior. The previous owners of our house painted it farrows cream, I swear it gets more yellow each day! I don’t know anything about the render tbh but I don’t think it needs any maintenance for 20-30 years hence the initial application cost is dearer. I’ve attached this link as I’ve come across a few similar comments (but as I say I don’t know anything about the render and you’re always going to get negative reviews of things). Try looking on your local selling groups and Facebook marketplace as they come up all the time. People sell then when they get too big for their hours or when they move and they can’t be bothered to take them with them, ha ha. The new bathroom is still a shell :0( It’s been delayed because it’s now an internal room and we have been trying to work out about putting an outside window in ie cost (around £600!) vs is it worth it because it’s easy facing with a house opposite so gets no sun. Would always have to turn the light on - plus it would be above the shower so can’t open etc. Seems a lot of hastle! I have a separate thread on it somewhere... But anyway, we might create an internal window into the utility and borrow the light from the kitchen?? Not perfect but it’s some natural light at least. Will update the bathroom thread as need help with the shower anyway ;0)

I think timber beams were quite often used as part of the wall structure. We had to take an external wall back in our living room due to dry rot (not from said beams!) and it had the same construction as yours.
