Hi Emily congratulations on your home and the work you have done so far I almost feel like your home needs to have its entrañce defined. I feel it lacks the welcoming of a proper entrance. i have attached a couple pics foe for inspiration. I think ot could really benifit from a great porch entry and nice landscaping.

Looks like rust staining which can happen with sandstone and other natural stone. Try the website www.thepavingexpert.com which gives lots of advice. Their returns policy does not seem to comply with Distance Selling Regulations. When buying something online and unseen, you have the right to return the item without even giving a reason, as long as it is done within 30 days. These are your statutory rights. This doesn’t apply with underwear, pillows and personalised items but pretty much everything else. Obviously paving is more difficult to return but they must have a system for dealing with this and it must crop up sometimes. I would contact the Citizens Advice for help and further advice. I do hope it is sorted soon.

Don't listen to your paver/builder as they will always put the terrace there! Is your floor in your extension floating or solid concrete with a dpc under it? Your best place for your main terrace is away from the house, you can always have an area with a pergola over it for very hot days. Make sure it is big enough with space to spare for what you require. A nice transition from your patio doors leading to the terrace is important. I would suggest getting a proper landscape designer to come out for at least a consultation, if not a proper design. You will end up saving money in the long run by getting it right on paper first, and you can get multiple quotes as they are all quoting from the same design. There are many factors to take into consideration when developing a garden, remember this is probably the biggest room of your house, and if it it done right, on of the most enjoyable and relaxing! Please don't rely on your paver/builder saying "I can slap down a lovely patio for you right outside your patio doors" it won't be. Good luck.

What a gorgeous house, I think I’m in love! Is it Arts & Crafts? I wouldn’t do much, maybe brighten up the render to a soft white as Jonathan suggests, paint the front door a nice blue or green. The drive is in very good condition so why change it? The problem with brick pavers is the weeds love to grow through the grout and it’s a nightmare to weed. You could try a resin gravel drive but they are pretty pricey. Look lovely though. You have some lovely greenery around but you could ahh a few lovely Himalayan silver birch trees along the drive, not too near in case of root spread. For more colour you can’t go wrong with roses dotted about in any gaps in the borders. David Austins have some beautiful ones, just look for disease resistant ones with a bit of height. I’ve bought from them online and the roses were fantastic quality and very well packaged. Door below is Inchyra Blue by F&B. You could also not do a thing as it’s so lovely!
