I think it would look fine, although I prefer brushed nickel and would have that over chrome for the faucet anyway.

Depends on the size of the drawer. As per your article, if the drawer is small enough then one handle in the middle is fine. If the drawer is quite wide, we tend to divide the drawer in half and half again (quarters) and put each of the two handles on the outer quarter lines. So if your drawer was 40cm wide, for example, I would divide the drawer in to 4 quarters of 10cm each and put the handles 10cm in from each side. Does that make sense? BUT I always make sure it looks okay first! Better to trust the eye than measures and levels sometimes. You want it to look good! :0)

I would buy some small knobs immediately.. The problem lies in disguising the hole/unpainted area that the door handle plate will leave,. when i remove it... I'm trying to not have to re-do the entire door, just to change the handles..
