kitchen tile advice needed

we are in the process of having our new kitchen fitting, main unit door is mussel, island is Parisian blue. floor tile is river perla. need advice on what colour of splash back tile to use? thank you

Hi, I have just finished repainting my kitchen myself. Overall I am happy with the new look, but I think the final verdict is only possible after some time (to see if the paint hardens enough). I have used Ammonite Farrow and Ball which is very warm grey colour. It looks nice in dark corners as well. Had to apply 4 coats of paint after 3 coats of FB primer. So be aware of the quantities. I must say that the process of repainting was not an easy ride. I spent overall three weeks (full time weekends and doing some smaller works in the evenings). Preparation is the hardest part (sanding, sanding and sanding), while painting is also a vey delicate process). If you are not afraid of hard work do it yourself! Otherwise, a professional is always a good option. Check traditionalpainter.com website they have a number of good instructions on repainting the cabinets.

Many thanks to everyone! After seeing them again and laying in a right way I decided to keep then. And of course go for Cooacabana with more black in it with wavy pattern (rather than linear). These tiles cost me £17 per sqm and are a bargain for the quality that they are (getting them from abroad). Apart from the pattern they are very white which overall would keep the floor colour white.

Hello, considering installing these floor tiles in our new kitchen: https://bit.ly/2TYNSkG The sample I’ve received looks good but always hard to know how it would look in the final project. We like the concrete ‘look’ but I would really like to hear people’s experiences of using such tiles or similar: Does it ever look tacky/ aka.....it’s ‘mock concrete/wood/porcelain’ etc How has the quality fared: this would be a high traffic area for us so what have people’s experiences been/would you need to install special underlay, etc The price seems too good to be true so I’m dubious/very keen to hear from people who have used! Thanks in advance :)

Hi Lisa, I agree with Sonia (above comment) I would not remove the work surface space as it gives you space either side of the cooker to prepare/serve up. I love the shelving you have picked out as it brings a new dimension/texture to the space. Looking at your dining chairs you are not afraid of colour so I would pick a colour/tile that makes you smile and lay in an interesting pattern formation (herringbone/basket weave) to bring some colour and texture to the space.
