i would go for glass, however those socket positions is both inconvenient and unusable in relation to the up stands, i would suggest a little baton to bring the glass in line with the upstands, you will find that plugging something in to the socket with the cable pointing downward is virtually impossible as the up stand prevents the plug from fully inserting.

Hi, Upstands with a splashback behind the hob gives a clean, simple finish which is ideal for a handleless kitchen. I would use a diamond matt finish which is scrubbable; alternatively, you can just top us the paint, as and when necessary. A glass splashback is also effective and bounces light creating an illusion of more space- it is also very easy to clean and maintain. You could go bold to create an impact and introduce colour into the scheme or stay neutral and introduce colour through accessories.

In my opinion the hexagon will also be a little lost because it is all white and with your wall cabinets you won’t see the top edges. Because you have so much white I think this is where your heart is. I encourage you to try colour but in a way that can be changed later- this means that you should add the color in paint. For you I think you should put a plain white tile or glass splash back behind the hob and sink and the paint the walls in a wipeable Matt paint of your choice. I like your blue idea to match the next room but be careful about choosing anything too cold. Since little wall will be showing I would love to see a bold color such as Farrow and Balls Stone Blue as I think it will frame the pale cabinets and make them stand out.

For what it's worth I think it's lovely. Everyone feels like this midway through a renovation. Once your accessories are in bar stools, fruit bowl, coffee machine etc it won't look so plain. I think every room feels cold until other aspects are
