So I'd never planned on having one in between the tall units despite the gap visible in the photo currently... and had only really planned one on the worktop end as I hadn't appreciated how well the carcass and the doors were matched! At the wall end near the window, we're having a filler panel (which would be wider than the normal end panel) which will be vanishingly small if we have an end panel on either side.. which would then mean the oven door, I think would hit the windowsill when open... so had always wanted it a few cm away from the wall.... Tbh, I keep looking at the photo and wonder whether we'd even have room for the end panels! the gap looks so tight for the DW! But I measured it like 100 times before we ordered (inc driving over at like 10 at night once), I was so paranoid..!

Hi thanks for comment, it’s same company designing and fitting so there wasn’t a showroom as it’s a small local business. Just wondered if it will look odd to have a navy panel then the quartz waterfall end or if this is usually done like this in designs where there is a breakfast bar then a fridge or other cupboard in the island. They said that it’s done as there are panels next to fridge and so it balances it out having them at ends if that makes sense

I can’t quite tell from your picture if there is more damage to the panel itself, but at the very least it looks like the caulking job was appalling. You could try cleaning that up by scraping it off and trying again with someone who knows what they are doing. Alternatively you can also buy an adhesive bath sealant on a roll….it won’t look as nice but it will full cover up the messy edge.
