I think I would go for a very pale pink or chalk pink on the walls like the image from 0.lushhomes. If you don't want pink on the walls go for a pale pastel grey wall and add pale pink cushions and a patterned rug under the dining table. Team the pink cushions with patterned ones in white/grey or white/black. Maybe add a vase of faux hydrangeas on the console. Pale pink also looks good with black if you want to mix modern with traditonal so could add black framed art.

I'd go for raspberry & pink, not as harsh as red, but definitely warming. I'd be very tempted if you go for the darker curtains, to go for the same colour rug, just for a bit of unity. However, if you then put a wooden coffee table on the rug, the wood will warm it up. All the pinks above will go with any grey, Different texture cushions in paler colours will help soften the look. This rug and coffee table go well with the whole theme, softens it down, and although grey tones, when mixed in with the soft accessories, cushions, vases, curtain ties etc will look really cosy. Thank you all for voting! We went with a charcoal velvet sofa in the end, very squishy and comfortable - great for the library! Green velvet would have also looked great but as ever, budgets aren’t unlimited so we went with something that would hopefully fit in if the decor changed in the future!
