It's not something we've ever been asked for so can't comment either way. Usually our customers opt for laminate, Quartz or glass.

I am fairly certain though that I recall one person saying theirs had cracked.

After I had posted I did see other chat about this. I would have been interested to hear from someone who had done it a few years ago, to see if they had any issues. We’ll see!

I'm also debating whether to get a mirrored splashback so have searched for old discussions about them and have read that people have experienced cracking. I wonder though if that was because they had gas hobs? Would it be any different with an induction hob maybe?

Most of our kitchens are supplied with Bronze Or Grey Mirror. I have bronze mirror myself and really love it.

This is Bronze Mirror. Those look so much more sophisticated than standard mirror. Personally I wouldn't put standard mirror in a kitchen.

With Grey and blue I would go bronze mirror if the colours / floor looks good with

maybe pale metallic , pale grey with hint of blue look or i you fancy something more original (pricy though) That would look great:

Or natural polished marble? depending on your worktop exact colour ?

it will still reflect light and look very glossy.

You can also ask a glass splashback company to print marble effect for you.

I have, thank you. I’m going with the antiqued glass. It’ll be a few weeks but I’ll post my report when it’s done!

Antiqued glass? Be aware that it is really low chance that the antiqued mirror splashback will be toughened. Most of the companies cannot replicate the antique mirror on a toughened glass, so make sure to get the written confirmation from the company that the splashback is toughened. If it is not, then it will not last longer than 2 weeks, to be honest, it is too easy to smash it accidentally with a pan.

We can do the toughened antique mirrors, whenever it comes to wall art or a splashback, just let me know if you would like to know the price, the only thing I just need is rough dimensions.

Our number is 020 3870 4399, keep it close at hand, as unfortunately, I am almost 100% sure that it is going to be a problem to find honest toughened antique mirror supplier in the UK.

people saying they crack - this is because of the glass. Just get highly polished metal sheet. This won’t crack and you can get it in all sorts of colours and finishes!

Toughened glass does not crack that easily. We treat it with hammer sometimes to present its durability to clients :).

Thanks for all comments. I went with toughened painted glass and it has been fine. Good looking and easy to clean. I decided against the antiqued glass only because at the end of the day it didn’t suit the finished kitchen. I still love the look of it, so maybe a bathroom...... My next project!

I think mirrored splash backs look great!! My friend has recently had one and I can defiantly vouch for the fact it makes the room stay light !!
