We’ve just replaced bifold with slim sliding doors. Our architect suggested Maxlight but we went with ODC as they have a showroom near Chiswick so we could actually see and touch the product. Always get the same company to fit so they give you a guarantee. They also come and survey so they are ordering the correct size and look at any potential issues eg how to get the doors into the house etc. We’re really happy with our new doors.

Hi Hannah, I think you are right and I do not think the stainless steel hardware will do the kitchen justice. Brass on dark green units works beautifully and it will also help to give the kitchen added charm and character. This will still work with the stainless steel handles on the appliances but one thing to watch is the finish on your tap, if you are going with brass hardware then I would also go for a brass tap.

I had to look up Quamar Pearl. Several images show up but i think its fine to go with what you have in mind. Just one small point that I noticed on your image was that the hinges are chrome and the handles brass (love brass handles which are making a come back) so would it be a consideration to have brass hinges too providing they are not already in position?

We are also in SW London in Wandsworth . Our kitchen/ new extension design saga went on for 3 years, with visits, designs, and cabinetry quotes from everyone from high-end, fully bespoke makers to some of the brands mentioned above. Cabinetry-alone prices for our space varied from £14k to £30k. (The bigger issue was finalising the extension design and worries over a neighbour’s objection.) Finally, mortified by the state of our kitchen before a big family visit, we opted to quickly install a “short term” IKEA kitchen. We went full bells and whistles.. all hidden drawer base cabinet design , internal lighting, Lerhyttan doors, etc.. and ended up spending less than £5k on the cabinetry. And guess what? I absolutely love it. The functionality is superb. I can change/ add internal fittings myself. We got a good, independent fitter and also sourced our own hardware and worktop. The only thing I regret is using one of their ceramic sinks, as the bottom is too flat.
