Hi, I have both farrow and ball and little Greene in my house (LG on the kitchen cabinets). I've had professionals use both paints and I've also used myself. LG is far better quality IMO (and the decorators) although I really love F&B colours. The cabinets were painted 18 months ago and wash down really well. I've only had to touch up the paint in a tiny area on the fridge door and when I changed my handles just last week:) I don't know the size of your cabinets or what finish they have currently but I would expect it to be done within 3 days. Decorators are anything from £150 a day upwards obviously depending on location.

Sorry I've not been back on this thread until now - work is mad busy at the moment ! But didn't want to leave you with nothing ... So started a doodle to see if maybe you could add some more space and have a sight line through from front door ... But to be honest - need to know so much more to really help - properly - it's beyond the realms of a thread on a chat site ...

Hi Heather I dont think it is a Cooke & Lewis kitchen but we brought a couple of their integrated doors from b & q doors for our new appliances and they look the same. The painter just wiped on Owatrol ESP and left it to dry for a few hours, it says wipe of on the instructions but you shouldnt wipe it of. He painted 2 coats with a leyland mix oil based egg shell paint. We wanted a matt finish as apposed to a shiny finish. We left the inside of the cupboards the same colour. Here is the kitchen 1 year later it still looks as good as new.

We did our kitchen a couple of years ago but had limited budget to do the connecting utility room. As a result we just swapped the doors and kept the carcasses. It wasn't a difficult job for the joiner (although clearly we had to make sure that the new doors were the same size) and it saved a fortune in both the cost of the units and the joiner's time. IMO you wouldn't know that we just changed the doors.
